Welcome to the Family

We had our 7th Annual Picnic and Baptism at Pleasant Creek State Park this past Wednesday evening. The weather was spectacular, it couldn't have been more perfect. We enjoyed an incredible spread of food, a time of worship lead by our Senior High, and then testimonies and baptisms. You can click on the picture above to see a slide show of the evening.

The picnic and baptism is a great picture of the church in its purest form. Families come together around the person of Christ to enjoy a time of food, fellowship, worship and public declaration of our faith. It's a wonderful image of what it means to be part of the family of God.

33 people made public declarations of their faith in Christ through baptism. It was so awesome to see dads baptising their children. But the most special thing for me Wednesday night was the privilege I had of baptising Josh and Jon. It doesn't get better than this.

I'm so proud of both of you and your desire to follow Christ. There's no greater joy than to know that your children are walking in the truth. Josh and Jon, welcome to the family!

It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This!

Palo Baptism

What do 400 pieces of chicken, four watermelon, nine tables full of food, 350 people, the sun setting over Pleasant Creek Lake and 41 baptisms add up to? One incredible evening! You can click on the picture above to see a slideshow of the picnic and baptism.

Baptisms are a time to celebrate the transforming power of God at work in the lives of people. It reminds us that New Covenant is a family of growing disciples. And that boys and girls, teens and adults alike all need Jesus.

Many of those who were baptized this evening talked about the importance of community and the support and encouragement of their small group. It was awesome watching small group leaders, dads, and grandfathers assist with the baptisms. It all added up to one incredible evening. It doesn't get any better than this!

A Beautiful Day

Baptism at Palo Lake

What an incredible evening! The food was great, the weather was superb, the worship was uplifting, and the baptisms and testimonies were inspiring. Palo Lake provided a picturesque setting as 29 children and adults identified with Christ through baptism. Click on the picture above to see a slideshow of the picnic and baptism.

There is nothing more beautiful than a life that has been touched by the hand of God. I never get tired of hearing someone share how their life has been transformed by Christ. My heart was touched as fathers baptized their sons and daughters, publicly declaring their faith in Christ. It was an evening of celebration and praise. In more ways that one, it was a beautiful day.
