Welcome Lunch

We had a great Welcome Lunch last Sunday with over 90 in attendance. Our Welcome Lunches are always a wonderful time to meet those who are new to our church. You can click on the picture above to see a slide show of the lunch.

Welcome Lunch

We had a great Welcome Lunch yesterday with around 100 in attendance. We had over 40 guests in attendance including a family with triplets! We never quite know how many to plan for but God always seems to work out the right mix of guest, table hosts and food! On Sunday we had guests and hosts at all ten tables.

A special "thank you" to Ken Owens, Heidi Fisher and the Kitchen Team who prepared and served us a great meal including home made chicken noodle soup. We couldn't do our Welcome Lunches without you. It's truly a team effort. You can click on the picture above to see a slide show of the lunch.

Welcome to New Covenant

We had a nice Welcome Lunch today with about about 50-60 people in attendance. It was a smaller group than usual, but we still had eight new families. You can click on the picture above to see a slide show of our lunch.

Welcome Lunch

I'm looking forward to Starting Point next week. My number one priority this week is to finish up the materials we will be using. I'm expecting great things.

Welcome Lunch

We had a great Welcome Lunch today with over 100 in attendance! We enjoyed grilled hotdogs, hamburgers along with great fellowship around our tables. You can click on the picture above to see a slideshow of our time together.

It's always interesting when we have a Welcome Lunch. We never know who is going to attend or how many to prepare for! It's sort of like feeding the 5000 except we do burgers rather than fish! And of course, we couldn't do this without our fantastic Kitchen Team. Thanks again for a great lunch!

And for those who came to the lunch as our guest, welcome to the family. And I hope to see you at the Friends Class next Sunday!

Good Stuff

We had a great Welcome Lunch today with about 90 people in attendance. We had 11 tables set up and guests were seated at 10 of them. The Kitchen Team did a great job as usual and Ken's chili was outstanding! Click on the picture above to see a short slideshow of our lunch.

I love the environment that the Welcome Lunch creates. Our staff, elders and deacons were scattered out throughout the room, engaged in conversations with our guests. The Welcome Lunch is a place where those who are new can meet others, ask questions and learn more about New Covenant. It's a place where introductions and connections are made. It's a place where God is free to work in the lives of people. Good stuff!

We like to say at New Covenant that there is always room for one more person. That a healthy church, like a healthy family, makes space around the dinner table or family room for one more person. Today we got to practice what we preach.

Pastor Bob and Leesa came to the lunch a few minutes late and all the tables were filled. So what did Bob do? What any family would do. He set up another table and and pulled up some more chairs.

No place to sit down? No problem. We can always make room for one more person. Welcome to New Covenant.

Even Bernice is welcome at New Covenant!

Pastor Bob likes to describe New Covenant as a church of grace. I would have to agree. What other church would welcome Bernice with open arms the way we do! I am warming up to Bernice. I know that we are a casual, "come as you are" church, but I do think she could give a little more attention to what she wears. I think the red hat clashes with the straw and scarecrow look! Regardless, we are glad that Bernice is with us and we love her just the same.

We had a great Welcome Lunch today. Thanks again to those who prepared the food, served and cleaned up. We couldn't do it without you! We had about 50 people in attendance with guests at every table. Our guests included Charlie and Connie; Eric, Rachel, Emily, Olivia and Isaac; Justin and Julie; Steve, Brenda and Bryanna; and the Marks family. Let me know if I missed anyone.
